Assign licenses to hosts (older dashboard)

Assign a license to each ESXi host in the Assign tab, so SCOM discovers and monitors it.

Goal

After you add a vCenter or ESXi connection, assign a license to every ESXi host you want to monitor. Only hosts with a license are discovered and monitored in SCOM.

Prerequisites

  • A license key imported in the OpsLogix License Dashboard.
  • A vCenter or ESXi connection added in the VMware IMP Configuration Dashboard.

Steps

  1. Go to Administration > OpsLogix MP Configuration > VMware IMP Configuration Dashboard and open the Assign tab (1–3 in the screenshot).
  2. If the host list is empty, click Refresh and wait for the hosts to appear (4).
  3. Select the hosts you want to license (5).
  4. Click Update to save the assignments (6).

Verify it worked

The selected hosts stay selected after you refresh the list, and the license totals at the top of the tab are updated.
