Fix Inventory and Whitelist Check Monitor alerts by resetting the collector license files.

Symptom

SCOM raises OpsLogix Vmware Inventory and Whitelist Check Monitor alerts.

Cause

The license assignment has become stale. The collector keeps its license information in local files, and these no longer match your license assignments.

Resolution

Do steps 1 to 3 on every SCOM management server that runs the VMware Management Pack workload.

  1. Stop the OpsLogix VMware Collector Service.
  2. Go to <Drive>:\Program Files\Opslogix\OpsLogix VMware Collector and delete these files: inventories.inv, license.lic and whitelist.wl.
  3. Start the OpsLogix VMware Collector Service again.
  4. Open the VMware Configuration Console. The license assignments are now cleared. If you don't see any vCenter or ESXi servers, click Refresh.
  5. Select the vCenter servers or ESXi hosts you want to license and monitor, and click Update.

Verify it worked

The files inventories.inv, license.lic and whitelist.wl are created again automatically in the collector folder, and the alerts stop.
