Applies to: OpsLogix Capacity trending reports, all versions
Last updated: October 2026 · Reading time: 6 minutes
Version 1.0.13.11
A major update of the reports and the forecasting engine. If you upgrade from 1.0.3, read Upgrade the Capacity trending reports from version 1.0.3 first: ten old reports are removed.
New reports
- Capacity overview (Percentage value and Absolute value): every server and instance for one counter, soonest to reach the threshold first, with a chart per row.
- Top N at risk (Percentage value and Absolute value): only the instances that reach the threshold first, built for a weekly e-mail.
- Capacity heat map (Percentage value and Absolute value): days until the threshold for every member of one or more groups, as a colour grid.
- Capacity profile: a set of counters per server group in one run, with six shipped profiles (Windows server core, Windows disks, Memory, Processor, SQL database files, Hyper-V hosts) and support for your own profiles.
Forecasting
- Forecast models: Best fit (default, chosen per series by back-test), straight line, robust line, weekly pattern (Holt-Winters) and busy days (95th percentile).
- Level shift detection: after a cleanup, migration or added disk, the forecast uses only the data after the change.
- A 95% range for every date, plus R², the day-to-day scatter (σ), the number of days and the back-test error.
- Sample Type: daily average, busiest hour of each day, 95th percentile of each day or daily maximum.
- Data quality notes for stale data, too little history, gaps and weak trends, and a warning when growth is accelerating.
Planning
- Planning threshold: in % used for percentage counters, or in the counter's own unit for absolute counters.
- Plan column: the date to act by (the threshold date minus the Critical days) and the capacity to add for 6, 12 or 24 months.
- What-if: a growth factor and capacity added, with the resulting threshold date.
Usability
- A new design; collapsible charts under each row, and Expand charts for printing and PDF.
- Tooltips that explain every value, and sortable columns.
- Values in MB, GB or TB for byte counters; free-space counters shown as % used.
- Reverse forecast direction switched on automatically for Free and Available counters.
- A comma-separated entity filter, and hosted objects labelled with their server.
- Defaults of 90 days back and 90 days ahead.
- Your own logo with Set-CapacityReportLogo.ps1, and a new OpsLogix logo.
- Knowledge articles for every report in the console, and the readable pack name OpsLogix IMP - Capacity trending reports.
Removed reports
The single-instance, Critical Only and Absolute value Multi instance reports are replaced by the reports above. See the upgrade article for the full list.
Fixes and administration
- Importing the reports pack no longer empties the licence table.

- Percentage rules are recognised by their counter name as well as their rule name; a typed rule filter searches all rules.
- Object names containing &, < or > no longer break the selection.
- EXECUTE grants to OpsMgrReader no longer carry WITH GRANT OPTION.
