VMware configuration dashboard isn't shown or shows an error
What to do when the VMware configuration dashboard is empty or shows an error.

Symptom
When you open the VMware Management Pack configuration dashboard, you get an error message, or the dashboard isn't shown at all.
Cause
The dashboard may not be fully distributed to your SCOM console yet, for example just after you import the management pack. It can also be a console cache problem or missing permissions.
If the dashboard shows an error message, the message often tells you the cause:
- Missing required management pack 'OpsLogix.IMP.License': the OpsLogix licensing management pack isn't imported. Import it with the other files from the download. See Choose which VMware MP files to import.
- Missing key property or Key could not be parsed: no valid license key is imported. See Import the VMware MP license key.
The dashboard also doesn't load if the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\OpsLogix\VMware\ui exists on the console computer without a DebugMode value. This can happen after you turned dashboard debugging off by deleting only the value.
Resolution
Try these steps in order:
- Wait 5 minutes and open the dashboard again.
- Restart the Operations Manager console.
- Clear the Operations Manager console cache.
- Check that you're a member of the SCOM Administrators user role.
- On the console computer, check
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OpsLogix\VMware\ui. If the key exists without a DebugMode value, delete the key and restart the console. - Turn on dashboard debugging (see Enable debug logging for the VMware MP), open the dashboard again and look in the Operations Manager event log on the console computer for event 1300 (source Operations Manager) or events from the source Opslogix Configuration UI.
Verify it worked
The VMware configuration dashboard opens without errors.
