How to assign ping alerts from groups of servers to groups of administrators
Sameer came to us us with a good question.
His company has more than 1000 servers and all those servers have different administrators. He would like to know whether he could create groups to assign groupfs of servers to a group of administrators and alerting would only go to their respective administrators. For example server A-B-C, X-Y-Z and 1-2-3 has administrator F-G-H, Q-R-S and 7-8-9 for the ping monitoring.
Here is the way to do this:
The best way to accomplish this is by creating custom groups in Operation Manager 2007, for example you create a group called Admin1. Then you add the ping hosts for that admin1 only. You can make custom groups within the Authoring workspace of Operation Manager. When you create a subscription for Admin1, you uncheck the mark for all groups and only select the Admin1 group!
